As the Finnmarken is about to leave Australia, Prosafe has
announced that "it has been awarded a 150-day contract using the
Safe Astoria for accommodation support at the Woodside operated
North West Shelf Project's North Rankin Redevelopment Project,
offshore Western Australia. On site operations are planned to
commence between April and May 2012. In addition, Prosafe has
granted Woodside two additional 30-day options. Total value of the
contract for the firm period is about USD 34.7 million."
The Safe Astoria has previously been engaged in the Bass Strait,
with a limited number of AMOU members on board and the rest of the
crew were AWU members.
